| KUALA LUMPUR: Armed Forces (MAF) chief General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar was appointed as an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Leadership and Management, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), today.
MAF Headquarters said in a statement that the letter of appointment was presented by USIM's vice-chancellor, Col (Rtd) Prof Datuk Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, during a brief ceremony held at Wisma Pertahanan.
The appointment, effective Oct 21, was based on his record of strategic leadership and extensive experience in managing the nation's defence and security.
"The decisive factor in selecting him for this prestigious role is Mohd Nizam's comprehensive strategic direction for the MAF, encompassing asset modernisation, defence diplomacy and progressive human resource governance.
"This appointment will strengthen the MAF's academic collaboration through knowledge sharing, joint research and military leadership module development at higher education institutions," the statement read.
Also present at the ceremony was USIM University Board of Directors chairman Tan Sri Dr. Nik Norzul Thani Nik Hassan Thani.
The MAF expressed its appreciation to USIM, saying the recognition is expected to positively impact the culture of knowledge within the military organisation, as well as strengthen credible and future-oriented professional leadership.
"The MAF remains committed to making academic collaboration a key element in building a competent and resilient national defence leadership," the statement concluded |
