| KUALA LUMPUR: Nineteen Public Service Department (PSD) scholars have secured places at some of the world's top 20 universities, marking a milestone for Malaysia's drive to produce world-class talent.
JPA, in a statement, said the students' achievement was the result of their outstanding A-Level results and reflected the MADANI government's ongoing commitment to nurturing competitive human capital.
Among the universities are the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, University College London, King's College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Edinburgh.
The department highlighted several scholars from the 2023 intake, including Muhammad Umar Nor'azim (3A, Psychological and Behavioural Sciences, University of Cambridge); Chng Suzanne (4A, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cambridge); Rubinthiran Yogarajah (3A*, Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London); Muhammad Fitri Hatim Zainuddin (4A*, Mathematics, King's College London); Danish Hariz Ahmad Kamarul (3A*, Accounting and Finance, LSE); and Imran Arif Mokhtar (3A*, Physics, University of Edinburgh).
The PSD said their success stemmed from hard work, discipline and perseverance throughout their A-Level studies.
"Their achievements not only make their families and institutions proud but also prove Malaysia can produce a world-class generation to elevate the nation's name internationally," it said.
It added that the success was in line with the Madani government's values of excellence, integrity and ihsan in shaping future national leaders.
"The students carry a heavy responsibility as young ambassadors of Malaysia, reflecting the image of knowledgeable, ethical and competitive Malaysians on the global stage," the department said.
It added that it hoped the students would continue to excel in their studies, bring honour to Malaysia and return home to contribute as high-quality human capital to drive the country's development. |
